To earn this coveted safety rating, the 2019 Mazda6 had to earn certain marks in a series of rigorous crashworthiness tests. The vehicle’s front crash prevention system and headlights had to earn high marks in separate tests as well.
Only the rank of Top Safety Pick+ is better than the score earned by the 2019 Mazda6. Getting the TSP or TSP+ rating is a big deal. The ability of so many Mazda vehicles to earn top safety scores from the IIHS is a testament to the Mazda brand’s commitment to producing safe automobiles.
