In our last blog post, we talked about when you may have to schedule a service appointment to have your transmission fluid changed. We chose that topic because it’s a pretty common question from drivers when they visit Scott Mazda. Of course, transmission fluid changes aren’t the only thing motorists ask about when they visit our location.

Here are some of the frequently asked questions from visitors to our Allentown, PA Mazda dealership and our answer to each one:

  • Why is it so important for me to follow my routine maintenance schedule? It’s important because doing so can yield meaningful benefits. Sticking to your routine maintenance schedule can extend your automobile’s useful life, for example. It can also preserve your car’s resale value and prevent small issues from morphing into larger problems that are more expensive to fix.
  • Why should I consider buying a pre-owned car? When you buy one of our used Mazda vehicles, you’ll avoid the rapid depreciation that happens during the first few years an automobile is initially owned. You’ll also pay less to insure and register your ride.
  • Will my battery give me a warning that it’s about to die? While your lights may dim a bit or your engine might be slow to turn over in the days before your battery dies, many car batteries give no advance warning before they expire, which is why it’s so important to have them checked regularly.
  • How can I tell if I need new brake pads? Unlike a battery, brake pads do tend to give warnings when they need to be replaced. Squealing or screeching coming from your wheel wells, needing more room for your car to stop, and a spongy brake pedal are some of the signs you need new brake pads.
