If you want to upgrade your ride but don’t want to buy a new automobile, we suggest you look through our pre-owned Mazda vehicles. Whether you view our pre-owned inventory online or in-person, you’re going to come across automobiles that have had different numbers of owners. With that in mind, some drivers ask us if it matters whether a previously owned model has had one or more previous owners.

When you look at the numbers exclusively, it really doesn’t matter how many prior owners a given vehicle has had. Most automobile valuation guides and tools factor a car’s worth based on its age, the number of miles on its odometer and overall condition. Depending on the resource you use, a vehicle’s status as a certified or non-certified car may also influence its estimated value.

Having been a Mazda dealer serving Easton, PA and surrounding areas for a while, we can tell you that the numbers don’t always tell the whole story. One-owner cars are sometimes newer than their multiple-owner counterparts because they may have been leased previously. If that’s the case, a one-owner vehicle will typically have fewer miles on its odometer and less wear and tear.

Even if an automobile owned by multiple people is the same age as a one-owner model, the one-owner vehicle is still probably the better option. One-owner vehicles tend to be better taken care of than models that have changed hands a bunch of times.

If you want the peace of mind that accompanies knowing only one other person has owned the previously owned car you want to get, visit Scott Mazda to look through our one-owner, pre-owned Mazda cars now.
