Meanwhile, in manual transmission car the driver is responsible for shifting the gears. And instead of an oil pan, manual transmission cars have a case that contains the transmission fluid.

Our approach is different for manual transmissions since they come with a case that does not contain a filter. What this means is that as the transmission’s components wear down, particles of metal start to mix with the transmission fluid, which is unable to filter them.

Thankfully, the process of servicing a manual transmission is straightforward: we drain the case and discard any metal particles we find. Then we fill the case with fresh transmission fluid.
